Frozen

Even though the year is coming to an end the blog is definitely not! In fact, we'll be back and ready to tell you more about what floats our boats around the time the bell rings in the new year! So without further ado: My last post of 2013.

Looking back it has been a great year. I've collected so many memories that I wouldn't be without and I've just had a great time watching musicals, being with the people I love the most and enjoying life. I've been more spontaneous than usual, I've learned more about myself and ... I could talk about this forever. But the most important thing: I've watched Frozen!

Okay, well, it may not be the most important thing - but it was a fantastic experience!

Frozen is the new animated Disney-movie based on the fairytale The Snow Queen by H.C. Andersen (Denmark! Woop woop!), and it was just incredible. Funny, warm, exciting and magical - just as a Disney-movie should be and definitely something I'd recommend watching!

The movie centers around the two sisters Princess Anna and Princess Elsa, where the latter posses the ability to do ice-magic. Sadly she can't control it even though she wishes to do so, and Anna sets on a quest to find Elsa, who has escaped from the town and her duty as Queen in order to find peace and a place where she cannot harm people.

Ahhhhhhh! Doesn't it just sound exciting!? And do you wanna hear the best part about it??! Almost all of my favorite actors and actresses from the musical-word are voicing the characters! Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad and Santino Fontana! Isn't that just amazing!? And they did SUCH a good job - though it was a little bit weird listening to Idina Menzel singing something else than the Wicked soundtrack! It's non the less very good and I'm sure you've heard this song a billion times already, but here you go - Let It Go from the movie:

Anyway, I hope you will consider watching this masterpiece of a new Disney movie (maybe it even has been out for ages in your country ... how should I know - we only just got it in Denmark)! And you'll take care and have a LOVELY NEW YEAR as well!

Thank you so much for reading along this year! :)

The Walking Dead Season 2 - The Game: Episode 1

And I'm back!

[CONTAINS SPOILERS – Do not read any further if you haven’t played the game but plan to do it]
I also warn you about all them feels I’m going to express! I’m usually a bit more objective, but that’s just not possible with this game.

The Walking Dead Season 1 was an amazing experience that I probably won’t ever forget. The game showed me how serious life can be and how hard it is to make the right choices. It is my favorite game for a reason. Now, if you haven’t heard of the game, it is a zombie game, where you have to make decisions that will let you survive the game. Bad decisions will kill you. Good decisions will let you live. It’s as simple as that.
Instead of the usual first person shooter survival game, The Walking Dead created by Telltale focuses on the story more than the gameplay. If you’re looking for a shooter, this game may not be for you, but if you love a good story like I do, you will love this game. There’s not much gameplay in the game. The game is set up much like a movie. What makes this as game though, is the fact that YOU are making the choices of the characters – you decide their story.
Now on to what I was actually going to talk about. The Walking Dead season 2 - Episode 1: All That Remains came out yesterday, and because I had preordered it, I could install it as soon as it came out. When the download had finished, I went right into the game and played the first episode of this season. And boy, what an experience!
I’ve known for a while that Clementine would be the main character this time, but I didn’t really know how to react to the news. I might have felt a little bit split between feeling good or bad. I mean, Clementine has suffered so much and I just couldn’t bear to see her out there alone, but at the same time I liked the fact that I didn’t have to get attached to a whole new character all over again.
After clicking play, it took me about five minutes before I was already crying. I will just leave it at that to not spoil too much – but I’m starting to see the evil in the people who created this game. I don’t think I know any books, movies, etc. which are sadder than this game. And the fact that Clementine is now walking around casually with a gun in her hand really sets me off. That one hit me hard. I don’t know what it is, but seeing a child having to carry a weapon like that is really not something I ever want to experience in real life.
And that’s not even everything. Clementine really has changed. That’s not negative, of course, but she’s become so mature that it’s almost hard to handle. Her values have changed. She’s so young, but finding a big box of toys only makes her throw it away and say: “Mmph. Nothing edible.” I just don’t see much of a child in her anymore.

Just when I think the thought that maybe the creators aren’t that heartless after all by letting Clementine have a dog as her friend so she isn’t alone, the freaking dog attacks her and makes her kill it (or I kind of made her kill it – but only because it was suffering!). That friendship was ruined in a time span of about ten minutes. That is what I call evil. Just when you get attached, you have to let go again.
To not only have sad things in this rant of mine, I must admit I love when Clementine uses sarcasm. I caught myself laughing out loud several times over her talking to herself. I actually think one of the things I love the most about these games is the sarcastic comments throughout the game.

Well, that’s all for this time, I apologize for the rant!
Here’s a trailer for you!

Creepy, but awesome Podcasts

And I'm back!

A few days ago, Sofie (Thursday) sent a link to me directing me to The Night Vale Podcast also known as “Welcome to Night Vale”. The podcast is produced by Commonplace Books, and was created by former Something Awful writer Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor. The Podcast was created last year and has become very popular on social networks in the summer of 2013. The podcast is set up as a fictive community radio, where you will listen to local news, commercials and announcements of the town Night Vale.
I haven’t listened to too much of the podcast episodes, because the podcast isn’t exactly my taste, knowing that none of it is actually real. But I still felt like mentioning it here because, first of all, it is incredibly popular, and second of all, it lead me inspire to find other podcasts. And those are the ones I will be talking about the rest of today’s feature.

A podcast that I find very entertaining is the podcast “The Last Podcast on the Left” featured on the website CaveComedyRadio. The podcast consists of three men, Ben Kissel, Henry Zebrowski and Marcus Parks who discusses various topics concerning horror and the like. They talk about a lot of things, including serial killers, ghosts, war crimes, religion, hauntings and creepypastas.
Ever felt like listening to people talking without using too much of your brain to concentrate on difficult subjects,” The Last Podcast to The Left” might be something for you. The guys are happy and outgoing, and while they discuss serious topics, they do it in a funny and entertaining way so you won’t be bored listening to it. Be ready for some bad jokes, swearing and creepy and scary facts, and I hope you will go to the CaveComedyRadio website to check the podcast out.

Another podcast that I found and simply can’t get enough of is “The Nosleep Podcast” featuring stories from the Nosleep forums on Reddit.com. After Reddit.com member Matt Hansen proposed the idea of a podcast introducing different stories from the forums, the idea was accepted in 2011. The host and producer of the podcast is the deep-voiced David Cummings, and the stories are read by all kinds of people and all the episodes have some nice soundtracks which fits the stories well.
As you might already know, I am a sucker for creepypastas, and what better way, for a lazy person like me, is there to find creepypastas than a podcast, where people find the best for you and even read them aloud. You don’t need to research the internet for creepypastas, and you don’t even have to read them yourself. Talk about killing two birds with one stone! Ohh, lazy me!

Well, the podcast is perfect if you’re looking for some really good and really creepy creepypastas, and some might even be so good that you’d want to support some of the authors. After listening to the podcast, I realized that a guy named Dathan AuerBach (also known as 1000Vultures) had written a creepypasta series called “Penpal” featuring six stories on the Nosleep forums. I can’t exactly explain what I love about the stories, but there is definitely something very eerie and maybe a bit epic about the stories that are about a boy (supposedly the author himself) and his life from kindergarten to the teenage years where some really creepy things happened.
I was curious and found out that there had been made a Kickstarter for the series to make it into an actual book, and yesterday I bought the book in paperback, and am now looking very much forward to receiving it next month.

"Penpal" by Dathan Auerbach
That's pretty much all for today! I hope you'll check some of the podcasts out, and as a bonus I will tell you that the last two podcasts are perfect listening to on your way to and from school!

For the first time I feel extremely and completely WICKED

I could be Elphaba, right?
Hello everyone!

After a long, refreshing and maybe a little bit too filled summerbreak I'm back and ready to share my love for everything musical-ish once again. Are you ready, because I am! My fingers are practially itching to start writing again- if that's not a sign, I don't know what it is!

As I told you in my last post weeks ago I was going to London with my friend to watch musicals. Kind of crazy to think about now that it is actually over (I got home around 2 weeks and a few days ago - cannot believe it), but such an amazing experience just to run around and act like crazy without feeling any judgement. :)

Today, I think I want to tell you about one of my favorite parts of the trip - Thursday, the day where we watched Wicked. I know I told you that I was most excited for Phantom of the Opera, but in the end I think Wicked was the show that totally blew me away and the one where I had blank eyes throughout the whole thing.

Why? Because I had no expectations what so ever. I have heard the songs so many times and I once saw a crappy bootleg of Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth as Elphaba and Glinda, but other than that... my encounter with the musical has only been through music and pictures. I had no idea what to expect from the actual show and w-o-w. I was blown away from start till end and was shaking when I finally stood up to join in for the curtain call-applauding. I still cannot believe I've seen Wicked. Actual WICKED. It has been a dream of mine for 1,5 year - unbelievable!

And for those wondering what Wicked actually is about:

Wicked tells the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students at Shiz University: the blonde and very popular Glinda and a misunderstood green girl, Elphaba.

Following an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, their friendship reaches a crossroads and their lives take very different paths. Glinda's unflinching desire for popularity sees her seduced by power while Elphaba's determination to remain true to herself, and to those around her, will have unexpected and shocking consequences for her future. Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

The show is just so lush and rich of colors with amazing props, beautiful costumes, clever lightning and magical moments. It was also full of humor (one thing I had never really thought about), sadness and love and just thinking about it gives me the chills. Ahhh, can I just go back?

It has everything a good musical is supposed to have.

Including my love.

No, but really, if you ever go to London - go watch Wicked! It's fun, clever, beautiful, sad and exciting. I cried, laughed and fell in love throughout the show. So beautiful visuals, such a beautiful story which end I was nowhere prepared for.

It's safe to say Wicked has a whole new meaning for me now, but that just makes it even better and it's because of that show I'm determined to dance through life as best as I can.

Also, I may have bought a Wicked-t-shirt and met a few of the actors...

Me, my friend and Louise Dearman (Elphaba, SO GOOD)

Me, the amazing Gina Beck (Glinda) and my friend!

(Will show the shirt among other musical gems I got in London in another post :))

Hope you have a magical Monday!
Love, Rebecca <3

Vacation!

'Ello everybody!

As you may be able to tell, Funny little features is a bit dead at the moment due to that fact that all of its members are rocking and partying all night long! In other words, we are resting our tiny heads now that we finally are able to do it, because it is our long-awaited summer vacation!
Sadly it is soon over and school will once again get a grip on all of our brains, but at the same time, we will probably start posting again soon!

We hope you can bare with us for a little longer! Love yooou.

Creepypasta Recommended #3

Hello everyone!

I apologise many times for the four day late post from me on Funny little features. I have been to Norway visiting a friend of mine, and I only just came home yesterday which is the reason for the missing post.
As I haven't actually been able to find some really good stuff to talk about, I will be continuing my Creepypasta list which makes this the second part!

First part is here: Creepypasta Recommended #2

Because of how long the stories were in the last Creepypasta Recommended post, I had some issues which made it impossible to actually read them, and it took me quite a while to fix the problem. Therefore the creepypastas will be shorter in this post so I won't have to do everthing over again as I did last time - and shorter stories means that lazy people can read them too ;)

That's all for today! I hope you enjoyed the creepypastas! I sure did when I read them the first time!

Plans for the Summer

As I am writing this it is not Monday but Wednesday - why you may ask? Because I'll be in Greece Monday and I'm beyond excited, even though I've just returned from Roskilde festival and I'm a bit bombed; psychically and emotionally but it's all good and my spirit is high so whatever.

Roskilde festival and Greece are not the only places I'm going to have been this summer, because I am actually going to London as well! I know right! Can't believe it either. Me and my wonderful friend Susannah from the Netherlands are going to meet up there in the end of July/start of August and then we're going to watch musicals en masse. I can't describe how excited I actually am for this trip - it has been something I've wanted to do for quite some time and now it's happening!! Only 20 days left!

We've already bought tickets for Les Misérables, Wicked and Phantom of the Opera and especially the last two ones are those that make me toss and turn of excitement in the night. I am 100% sure I am going to shed a tear or thousand when I'm sitting there in theatre watching what I've been dreaming of watching since... I don't know... It feels like it has been forever.

Those are not the only shows we are going to watch though, because we are planning on queuing for a few other shows as well in the morning when the ticket office opens to see if we can get some cheap tickets for them - and I really hope we can get some for Once and Matilda, because I just want to watch them so bad even though they're a bit expensive.

Even though my summer is a bit packed I don't really mind because it's all great things happening and I don't know whether to cry or smile of happiness. I guess both is good? ;) I hope you have an amazing summer as well and I'll see you next week - if I don't forget it, that is. Sorry for not posting an entry last week - I'll make it up for ya!

Susannah and I as Phantom and Christine ;)

Sorø Regatta

Last weekend was crazy. We went to a regatta which means lots of hard work and waking up way too early. So didn't have time to write  my entry last Saturday - Sorry! I do think if I tell you a  bit about my weekend, you might better understand, why I had no time at all at hand.

This is what happened:

Thursday: Training and afterwards packing the boats. I'm still not quite familiar with the routine so it took a looong time.

Friday: in the afternoon we drove to Sorø (a danish city where the regatta was held) to unpack the boat trailer and try the water. Very confusing and challenging because my club isn't the only one who thinks it is a good idea to row on the lake before the actual race. So many, many boats! Also, the first thing I did after I began training was to row directly into some willow, right in front of every body. Embarrassing... I got home from Sorø at 9.30 in the evening, made a huge lunch pack and went straight to bed.

Picture: Peter Skafte, www.rofotos.dk
Saturday: Woke up at 5 p.m - yep, no kidding there, I seriously woke up so early. Left my house at 6 o'clock, arrived in Sorø at 7 p.m where I had to wait two hours for my race to begin. I was so nervous I thought I was going to puke. And the race was absolute crab. So basically I woke up when the sun rose just to get my arse kicked viciously four hours later. Great day... And I didn't get home until late in the afternoon, so just yay, yay, yay. Went to bed at 8 a.m, I was so tired.

Sunday: Believe it or not, Sunday I woke up even earlier, at 4.50 p.m. Left my house at half past five, arrived in Sorø half past 6 and rowed my race twenty minutes to eight. In the goddamn morning. To. Fucking. Early. But I did way better this day, even though I didn't qualify for the finals. For the next 8 hours I just wandered around doing nothing until it was time to pack things up and go home. All in all I was home at 8 o'clock in the evening. Totally wasted, with a huge minus on my sleep account but happy. All in all it was a very good experience :)

I am already looking forward to my next regatta in a month, which is even combined with a little training camp. I'll keep you guys updated!

Love as always

Run!

'Sup!

Yesterday i went on a gamesite to play a coop flash game with my cousin, and to the right in the game recommendations was a game that I hold very dear to my heart. If I have any sort of brain damage or the kind, it is most definitely because of that game.
So of course I had to play a bit of the game after I was done playing with my cousin - and today I have also been playing for some time.

The game is a simple flash runner game with the fitting name "Run", where you have to control a little cute grey alien-ish figure. You use the left and right keys to control your movement and use space to jump - as it is in most other flash games. In the game you pretty much have to keep yourself on the platforms without falling off which is indeed very simple. The cool twist in the game is that you can turn the 'screen' around by walking to one of the sides which gives off this 3-dimensional feeling.

Find the game here: Run

I used to play this game a while back, 3-4 years ago, and I found it very hard, but at the same time fun. I used to play it for hours everyday, so it should be fair to say that I was quite the addict. As I played it today, I didn't find it that hard - I made it to level 40 in a short amount of time. I probably still got it in me from all those hours of practise years ago ;)
I have looked through the comments though, and there are various opinions on the difficulty of the game, but if I have to say anything, it is that even though a level can be hard, it isn't impossible. There are routes that are easier than others, and after a few tries on a level, you will surely be able to figure out a good route.
I agree with many other players of the game that the respawn time is almost 'God-ish', since there is no retry screen, no long pause or anything after you fall off and die. You just respawn where the level starts, and if you're not ready, the little guy will just fall off the edge, and *plop* he's back at the beginning, and you can start again! Fast respawn time everyone!
The game isn't too fancy, as I have mentioned before, it is very simple. But to me that simpleness is what I like about the games - yes at some websites there are upgrades, but if you keep away from registering on any websites, you will pretty much be seeing nothing but a grey guy jumping on colorful platforms.

As I googled the game, I found out that there has been made a "Run 2" game, where you can choose between two kind of 'aliens' - the runner and the skater, and the sequal of the game really took a hold of the 3-dimensional look. I can't review the game much though, since I haven't actually played that much of it.

Find the game here: Run 2

Game credits: Programming by Joseph Cloutier, Animation and Art by Alex Ostroff.
That was all for today!

Game Parody Videos

Helloo!

So since I have had litterally no time to write today (mostly because I spent most of the day enjoying life with Chris(Sunday) watching Man of Steel, which I must say was very.. different than what I expected -cough- Aliens -cough-), I won't be able to write about something very interesting.
Therefore I figured I would use my secret weapon today! Game parody videos! Unfortunatly I haven't found that many parody videoes yet, so you will have to live with the very little variety in games that the videos are based on.

Game parodies:

Once

Today I want to talk about an absolute wonderful movie I watched a couple of months ago. I was having a kind of bad day and was in need of something to make me forget everything. And this movie certainly helped, even though I was weeping like a baby in the end. Not because it's that sad, but because it's an extremely well written and such a beautiful story.

I'm talking about the movie Once.

Set in Dublin it revolves around a Guy busting in the street and a Girl, who is a Czech immigrant who randomly meets. It is a story of friendship, love and the special bond music can create between people.

I absolutely love everything about it; from the low-budget filming (which only adds its own charm!) to how natural and real Markéta Irglóva's and Glen Hansard's portrayals of the Guy and Girl is. It is such a real movie that really captures life with it's "raw" pictures and how unexpected it can turn out. Once really proves that as long as you have a story to tell, you do not need a lot of money or the most high-tech equipment. As long as you have your heart in it and makes the best of what you have in hand it'll work!

The movie has a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack composed by Irglóva and Hansard and the song Falling Slowly actually won an Oscar. Don't fret when I'm mentioning it's a musical though, because it is so well made and the song just fits that it never seems very musical like. It is just a part of the story, just like the music is a part of the Guy and Girl lives.

I am a very, very big fan of it and I hope other people will give it a chance as well. It really deserves it.

Hope you have a brillant next week and happy July 1st!

Getting to know me!

So today I thought I would give you guys a sort of introduction to me as a rower (better late than never) The idea absolutely stolen from Rebecca - hope you don't mind darling :*

1: Favorite thing about rowing?
That feeling you get when you have given absolutely everything you've got knowing you've done your best. Your whole body is a mess and you can barely stand on your feet from exhaustion but still, you've got the most amazing feeling of satisfaction.

2: Favorite rowing memory?

Training camp with my team in the Easter holidays. So much fun, hard work and bonding time with the team.
3: Favorite seat?
hmm good question actually. I don't quite know. I've mostly been stroke (the person sitting in the front, setting the stroke rate and rhythm) , which I really like but I do get all irritated when I'm not allowed to shout out calls, so I think I might like to be bow (seat one from behind), even though I've never tried it.

4: Goal for this season?
I dunno, not capsizing at a race or something like that... Or perhaps entering a race where I don't come last... Yeah, my expectations for this season are really high!

5: Best rowing experience?
Rowing past the finish line at my first race ever. Even though my time was shit I just couldn't stop smiling, I was so happy (and high on endorphines)

6: What made you decide to row?
My mother, who insisted that I should join the local rowing team. apparently, according to her, because she wanted me to learn how to behave on the water...

7: Do you want to row in college?

I want to row forever. So yes, in college too.

8: Ever won gold?
Sadly no - but still hoping it'll come one day

9: Ever capsized in a boat?

Pains me to say it, but yes. Last Thursday... And I choose the worst possible moment to do it. I was all alone and I had just begun to row in a really good single scull made out of carbon fibre, and when it is made out of that, you are not allowed to crawl up in the boat again because it might break it. So basically I was fucked. Luckily my trainer saw me capsize and came and helped me. I swam into very shallow water where I could stand on the sea floor and somehow swing my leg over the boat and get into it again. Sounds difficult but I actually managed without the biggest trouble.  Still, wasn't a very pleasant experience, I got quite a chock! But nothing to do but get into the boat and row, row, row!

10: Worst rowing experience?

A time when one of my trainers decided to seriously yell at me and my double partner in the middle of a practice on the water. He was seriously pissed, forgetting the tiny fact that we we were brand new at the sport and had no idea what we were supposed to do. I was seriously mad at him, which he apparently couldn't understand. Afterwards I've been told that he admitted he was out of line, telling us off like that but we never got an apology...

Hope you guys can get a better idea of what kind of person I am as a rower. Perhaps I'll make a similar entry on me as a person sometimes - we'll see.

Love as always

Summer purchases

Hello readers!
All having a blast enjoying the holidays and warm weather? Well I sure am, at least when it is not raining in Denmark. Nevertheless, I did shop around a bit lately and I found myself some pretty neat things here and there.

My first purchase was a lovely jumpsuit/one piece/pantsuit or whatever you might call it. I was on a trip to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, and visited Monki. I love Monki because I think their designs are cool and retro but always in a wearable way nowadays. So I got this piece of clothing (not gonna make me say it again, ha!) in a beautiful pattern in black and white. Kind of abstract, almost tribal pattern. I do really enjoy it because it is light to wear and still you don't feel like showing too much. Definitely worth the cash!

Second, I thought to myself that since I am going on vacation near a swimmingpool, I sure needed some new swimwear! So I searched all Zalandos swimwear through, and agreed at last with myself which one to buy. A Ted Baker bikini called something like "Tropical Parrot". Sadly, they did not have my size in stock, but then I just went to Asos and bought it there. I did not now the brand Ted Baker before, but I realize now that it is an amazing brand! Beautiful dresses and accessories in the most amazing prints and patterns! I a fan!
Besides I think that patterns like the parrot pattern you see on the Ted Baker, has gotten really popular! The tropical colours and watery shapes must be very in right now. Which is understandable, since they are absolutely beautiful!

At last, my most expensive purchase this month was a new phone! I have had the same old Sony Ericsson with buttons and all since 7th grade, and figured that it was time for some change.. So I got myself a smartphone!! I am really happy I bought it, because I just love everything about it! I usually don't spend a lot on money on gadgets and stuff, but this phone I am really happy for! And hopefully it will last for a loong time :)

That's all for this week!
Enjoy your holidays and the sun (hopefully) shining!

Mockumentaries

'Ello

So, I was looking through my ”Awesome stuff” playlist on YouTube, which consists of a few mockumentaries I watched a year or two ago. In short a mockumentary is a movie, television show or the like in which fictional events are shown and presented as a documentary. It is said to be mostly used for comedic or historic shows, but in the last couple of years they have become very popular in the horror genre.
Which, to me, makes totally sense, since the documentary styled movies which are presenting nothing but pure scary fiction, suddenly seems way more realistic to the point where you might question the fact that it really is nothing but fiction.

Well, as I was saying, I found some mockumentaries and skipped through one of them to check out the cool and scary parts that I remembered was in it, and as perfect as it could be, an annotation was added by the makers of the film, mentioning their other films. Thank god it is summer, because I just had to check out some of the other videos by the same people – and if it was winter, it had been really dark out, and that would only end one way: me shitting bricks! Sorry for the language!

Now it’s probably time to mention the actual name of the film makers. They are called EnterViral on YouTube, and the movies I just watched is called Covet and The Asylum, and was posted on YouTube in 2012.

Up till now, I have watched three of their movies, all of them lasting about 45 minutes, so they are not that long, but it is time enough to give you a few scares! And they are quite enjoyable, so unless you literally die from watching horror movies (yes, I’m thinking of you Becca) then watch these short mockumentaries.

The three movies from EnterViral that I’ve watched so far are:

The Rake (November 2011)
Basically this movie revolves around three guys who as stupid as it sounds (yes, I’m being subjective) decides that it’s an oh so great idea to go camping in some unknown woods, without bringing anything that would make it possible to communicate with the world – on purpose. First of all, woods are scary at night just being, you know, woods, but as the title insinuates, there is something else in the woods which makes life miserable for the three guys. The Rake lives in those woods, and you do not want to meet the Rake. I can assure you of that.

Covet (January 2012)
This movie is pretty hard to explain what’s about, but it starts out with the guy John living in his new house, and he knows that somebody has been stealing drinks from his fridge in the garage. After about a week of it going on every night, he sets up at security camera to check out who has been stealing from him. The videos show a man or creature crawling naked inside the garage, stealing and leaving again. John starts to research on the former owners of the house and looks into why the house haven’t been sold for fifteen years, and he has some very interesting discovers.

The Asylum (July 2012)
The Asylum is about three so-called historians who are curious about an old and closed off Asylum which has tunnels underneath it which are supposedly not locked off. They explore the tunnels, but they find out that they are not the only ones down there, and are somewhat followed by this person. There’s a minor error in this movie in the end of it which made it very hard for me to take the rest of the movie serious, but hopefully others won’t feel the same way.

What all of these movies have in common, aside from being mockumentaries, is the fact that they have all ended in the characters either disappearing or dying mysteriously where the cameras have later been found, and it is also the same actors in all three movies. But since they are short, and you don’t really get to see much of the characters (because they are holding the camera filming), it doesn’t make them bad.

I have watched many other mockumentaries and these are only the few I have seen made by EnterViral, and I may or may not mention them in later posts in the future!
Other horror mockumentaries:

The Tunnel (2011) - watch here
Windigo (2011) - watch here
Paranormal Activity Series (2007 - ?)
The Blair Witch Project (1999)

Oh yeah, and my favorite series in the whole wide world just happens to be presented mockumentary style – what a coincidence! Or MAYBE that was the thing that brought me to like mockumentaries? Who knows? Yes, I’m being sarcastic!
I won’t even mention the name of my favorite series in the whole wide world here, just because it would be disrespectful only to mention it in a tiny passage of the entire post. It needs at least a whole post for itself! You might hear about it someday.

If you should know any awesome horror mockumentaries or if you wish to get more mockumentary recommendations, please leave a comment down below! Love you!

26 Questions to the Musical Lover

If there's one thing you all should know about me it's the fact that I LOVE (yes, L-O-V-E) reading about people and musicals, so when I found these questions I just had to answer them. You know, sometimes musicals can say a lot about your personality! For example I'm secretly in love with Phantom of the Opera because I myself live in the basement and Phantom sort of does as well and the reason why Wicked has such a special place in my heart is because I'm green (no, it's NOT easy being green)!

Nah, just kidding! Here's my answers and the questions!

1. Do you have a favourite theatre? Which one, and why?
I haven't been to a lot of theatres but Det Ny Teater (the New Theatre) in the middle of Copenhagen is pretty cool and definitely a place I could imagine Phantom living in. It has everything from the chandelier, the grand stairwells to the small corners and lots of doors. I also really like Østre Gasværk mainly because it's a place you wouldn't instantly think about being ideal for theatre. It got this really gritty, raw and medieval look. It's really one of the coolest theatres we have in Denmark, and the two shows I've watched there (HAIR being one of them) was absolutely fantastic. They really know how to work that stage and to take advantage of their building - I love it! Just look at this picture of the scene:

2. At the moment, would you rather watch a comedy or a tragedy?
Really depends on how it's done. I'd rather watch a really well-made tragedy than a bad comedy and vice versa. But right now I think I need a little cheering up to be honest. Something to get really lost in and something to make me laugh.

3. The funniest show or performance you’ve ever seen?
I haven't exactly seen it yet; only half of a crappy bootleg, but I have to say Book of Mormon. That is some funny sh*t - even if you only listen to the soundtrack. God, I love those songs! Hasa diega eebowai! ;)

4. The saddest show or performance you’ve ever seen?
I think it's Spring Awakening - that scene with Melchior in the graveyard (if you've seen the show, you know what I'm talking about) kills me every time. And the fate of a certain character. Beautiful and yet so incredibly tragic.

5. Who is your favorite musical actors/actresses?
Without a doubt Sierra Boggess, Laura Osnes, Idina Menzel, Ramin Karimloo and Jonathan Groff - eff yeah!

6. Your favourite stage door photo or memory?
Sadly I haven't stage-doored yet (if that's even a verb) - but wait and see. After this summer I might have a photo or two to show you! ;)

7. Do you prefer an grand or simple musical - design-wise? Why?
I love Phantom because everything about is so grand - from the set-pieces to the costumes ... even the songs are as well! On the other hand I'm extremely fascinated about how a simple show can convey so many emotions (Spring Awakening and Next To Normal are good examples of this) and tell a story without needing a lot of props. That's magical. In general I just like something that has been put a lot of thought in!

8. The most memorable performance you’ve ever been to?
The Lion King in London's West End. That show gave me some SERIOUS CHILLS throughout the whole thing and it was just beyond magical; the costumes, songs, story and the set-pieces. Wauw. If you ever go to London and don't know what to watch The Lion King is a very, very safe and good choice: You will get blown away. I guarantee you.

9. Is there a movie you’d like to see adapted to a musical?
I'd love to see Pride and Prejudice, actually. I know people has been talking about making one, but it hasn't happened yet (not that I know of, that is). But I don't really know, most of my favorite movies are actually musicals and those who aren't... well, I can't really see them becoming musicals.

10. How about a musical you’d like to see onscreen?
Can they make a remake of the Phantom of the Opera-movie? Pleeeease? I'd also REALLY like seeing Wicked as a movie (and yes, Idina Menzel has to repeat her rose af Elphaba - all your arguments are invalid! SHE IS NOT TOO OLD TO DO IT) and Spring Awakening as well. I think Spring Awakening could be a really powerful movie and something that'd be remembered and watched forever. Next to Normal could be a good choice as well!

11. What is the last stage show you saw? Review it in three sentences.
A bootleg of Cinderella. I loved how they twisted the story. Laura Osnes is the most beautiful and talented human being. Gorgeous, funny, lovely and epic musical with astounding costume changes!

12. A show you’d recommend to everybody?
Next to Normal. I think it's a show everyone will love plus it deals with some very difficult issues and make you just think about life in general.

13. A show you wouldn’t recommend to your worst enemy?
The Danish version of Shrek: The Musical. No... Just no. But! I'm quite sure it had to do with the venue - Forum doesn't do anything good for a musical - because I've seen something from the Broadway version of the show where it looked quite good and more intimate.

14. A show you’re ashamed to admit you like?
Oh God... I don't know. Phantom of the Opera maybe? Not that it's a secret, but I think my love for it is kind of intense and only a few people know how much I actually LOVELOVELOVE it. Also, I enjoy the music of the show A LOT even though it's quite operatic, and sometimes I feel a bit ashamed when blasting it as loud as possible I find myself hoping no one hears that I'm listening to Carlotta screaming her head off in Poor Fool He Makes Me Laugh.

15. How important are visuals for you? Can you enjoy a show with good acting but ugly visuals? Or can good visuals save an otherwise bad show in your eyes?
Neither. A good show is always one where everything is thought through. Everything has to go up into a higher unity in order to succeed.

One of my favorite stage designs - from Matilda: The Musical

16. What is the prettiest show you’ve ever seen?
Without a doubt The Lion King and Love Never Dies. Wow. Lion King just embraces that African savannah, whilst everything about Love Never Dies just is so glittery and lavishly. Aaaah!

17. A costume or a prop that you love?
I'm all in for Christine's Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again-dress. If I had to own one of her dresses it would definitely be that one!

18. You can only watch productions of one show for the rest of your life. Which show you choose and why?
Phantom of the Opera because I love the musical and it has so many layers. Everytime I watch it I notice something new (today for example I realized that Raoul actually is proposing to Christine when he sings All I Ask of You - the more you know....)!

19. Do you research the shows you consider seeing, or do you just pick a show to see and hope it’s good?
I listen to the cast recordings and watch some clips - a little research is always good so you don't waste your money. Usually I discover new, good shows because of an actor I'm a fan of is in it. :)

20. Your favourite act 1 ending?
A tie between Wicked's Defying Gravity and Phantoms chandelier crash.

Idina Menzel as the wicked, green witch Elphaba defying gravity

21. The most times you’ve ever seen the same show or production?
Does it have to be live? Because then I'd have to say twice (We Will Rock You and Love Never Dies). I've watched the DVD of Phantom's 25th anniversary more than twice though. FAVORITE THING.

22. A performance by an actor or an actress that has impressed you the most?
I feel like Phantom of the Opera is taking over this post, but I have to say Ramin Karimloo's take on the Phantom. Quite phenomenal! I am in love with his acting choices. I also really enjoy Louise Fribo's Christine in Love Never Dies - she owns the part! And sings like an angel - just watch this video and you'll know what I mean:

If that's not beautiful I don't know what is!

23. Have you ever walked out of a performance? If not, could you consider doing so?
Then it had to be really bad... but no, I don't think I'd do it. I'm one of those people who hates wasting money and hey, it can always surprise you in the end!

24. Do you collect theatre memorabilia? If so, feel free to show off your collection!
Unfortunately not! I always forget to buy the programmes :( Maybe I should start doing that.

25. You have to swap lives for a week with a character from one of your favourite shows. Who do you choose and why?
Though one! Hmm, I think Phantom actually? I think it'd be interesting to see how he sees the world. Maybe Elphaba from Wicked as well, since I'd like to know how it is being green - oh, and Angel from RENT because she knows how to own the life you've been giving! I could use a little of that.

26. A headcanon about your favourite show?
Raoul and Christine gets married and she discovers she is pregnant and when their son is 10 years old they move to New York to sing at Hammerstein's Operahouse only to discover that it's actually the Phantom that has lured them away from France so he can he reunited with his lost lover and write beautiful music again... wait, is that Love Never Dies? Sorry.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my answers and feel free to answer the questions as well! I also really hope you've had a wonderful weekend, will have some fantastic next 6 days and I'll see you next week! :)

Yours fondly,
Rebecca
